About This Spot

Yawon greets you with a quiet embrace, tucked away in the gentle rhythm of Jeju’s northeastern outskirts. As you step through the hanok-inspired entrance, the harmony of natural materials—earthy stones, weathered wood, and warm straw—merges seamlessly with the open garden beyond. This is a place where time softens, and the outside world seems to pause, inviting you to settle into a slower, more thoughtful moment.

The café’s atmosphere is calm and unhurried, touched by a deliberate simplicity that encourages quiet reflection and gentle conversation. Whether you find a seat beneath the sheltering eaves or by a window overlooking the garden’s understated beauty, Yawon offers a peaceful retreat from the hum of daily life. It is the kind of place that doesn’t rush you out but welcomes lingering, where the mood feels both grounded in tradition and comfortably contemporary.

Yawon’s essence is felt most keenly through its thoughtful pairing of handcrafted drinks and delicate sweets. The soft aroma of roasted coffee drifts alongside the subtle zest of citrus teas, each cup echoing the seasons of Jeju. Rice cakes woven with local flavors offer gentle sweetness and texture, meant to be savored slowly, complementing the quietude and surroundings. Here, food and drink become part of a shared moment—one that feels both personal and timeless.

Visitors often find themselves enchanted not just by what’s served but by how effortlessly the space invites them to unwind and connect—with nature, with friends, or simply with a peaceful pause in their day. The natural setting, with tables nestled among verdant greenery, creates pockets of serenity that feel both protected and open, as if the café itself is quietly breathing with the land it inhabits.

Yawon is a gentle discovery for those willing to venture a little further from the center of Jeju city. It’s a place less about spectacle and more about the small, treasured moments: shared sips, soft whispers, and the grounding simplicity of a well-crafted coffee beneath a soft sky.

5,000 won for coffee, 5,000 won for tea, 5,000 won for 3 Omegi rice cakes, 3,000 won for cookies A place where hanok buildings, such as trees, soil, straw, and stones, are not artificial and go well with the outdoor natural environment. There are many tables everywhere, and the garden view is wonderful over the barrel. It takes about 30 minutes to come by bus number 211 from downtown Jeju, and there is a cafe near the stop

We actually arrived at closing, so we were disappointed. But... the atmosphere is absolutely amazing, I want to go back to eat there one day.

Beautiful place, great food and coffee. We ordered another plate of mugwort rice cake as one plate is simply not enough. Really delicious.

This café is like stepping into a different time. The interior is built in a traditional Korean hanok style, with rustic wooden beams, mud walls, low tables, and paper lantern lighting. Every corner feels authentic and calming. What makes it truly special is the stunning view of the forest right outside the large windows — peaceful, green, and immersive. You feel completely surrounded by nature while enjoying your drink on the floor cushions. Behind the café, there’s a beautiful garden filled with rows of traditional Korean earthenware jars (onggi) used for storing kimchi and sauces. It adds to the historical charm and makes the whole experience feel very local and unique. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Jeju and want to experience something beyond the usual tourist spots.

Visited Yawon in Jeju and absolutely loved the experience. It’s set in a beautiful traditional Korean-style house, which adds so much charm and calm to the atmosphere. We had the plum tea, Schisandra ade, and Omegi ricecake, and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The flavors were subtle, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the peaceful setting. A wonderful spot to slow down and enjoy traditional Korean treats — highly recommend for anyone visiting Jeju!
